Don’t narrow the dream expand the team
One day long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away; you dreamed of greatness. You dreamed of a successful business, helping hundreds or thousands of others, or earning a position of powerful influence.
Maybe over time you lost your dream. One too many failures broke the camel’s back. One too many frustrations, responsibilities, or limitation put the last nail in your dream’s coffin. You’ve given up. You’ve settled.
Maybe your dream died because you tried to achieve it on your own.
Great dreams require great teams.
I just finished meeting with a young man who is becoming part of a “dream team.” I explained where I want to go. I let him know what’s in it for him. I laid out the possibilities of giving back to others. I told him stories that illustrate how the dream can be achieved. I’m inviting him to dream with me and dream for himself. He’s in!
I can’t achieve my dream alone and neither can you. If you can, your dream is too small.
Leaders don’t narrow the dream they expand the team.

Thanks for the encourager, Dan. One mission I have while working with a local non-profit is to expand our influence by including others in the mission. Morale increases when others jump on board, all while new excitement is created.

I have to agree with this. Working alone and taking on everything was the reason I failed to manage a rapidly growing business and ultimately ended up losing my business, my good health and almost cost me my marriage and sanity. Thankfully, I learned the hard way and trying to create the right “dream team” for what looks like a very promising “Round Two!” Thanks for sharing Dan. A little reminder goes a long way.

I wish you the best in “round two.” I have to say that having the right people around us makes so much difference. I haven’t always realized the need for a “dream team.” Having said that, today I enjoy the feeling of support. I’m enjoying the richness having having others in my life. I like it! Well said, dreams can never be fullfilled or acheived without the support of a dedicated team, I failed miserably when attempted to go all hog out all alone to acheive, seemed acheiavble then, but later met with disgraceful end, and lost all most all, but not the heart and enthusiam, would attempt again, not without a team, this time. Really you well said….. can’t achieve dream alone, neither I could nor you can. If at all you can, your dream is too small.
