The 7 Most Popular Leadership Freak Posts of 2014
Some posts get traction, others wilt. It’s unpredictable.
WordPress says I posted 347 times in 2014.
You might expect articles posted at the beginning of the year to be top posts. They have more time to gather views. But, that’s not always the case.
The most viewed Leadership Freak post of 2014 was posted four months ago, not twelve.

A personal favorite:
The post that resulted in several radio and magazine interviews was, “The Three Power People You Need on Your Team.” (#10 on the most viewed list) It’s one of my personal favorites from 2014.
Thank you:
Thank you for a wonderful year. Thank you for reading, commenting, and sharing these posts with friends and colleagues.
Happy New Year!
What leadership lesson made a difference for you in 2014?
Dan, it has been great getting to know you through the blog this year.
Your Peter Drucker quote is spot on: “I’m more interested in people than I am in how businesses work.”
Thanks Bruce. It’s great to see you become a regular participant. Much appreciated. Best wishes
I love your blog and look forward to my daily dose, but the one that has stuck with me and made a real difference was HOW TO MOTIVATE OTHERS TO COMMIT. It still wows me. I can not tell you how many times I have used the words, “Conformity isn’t commitment” since reading that post. Have a wonderful New Year and please continue to wow me!
Thanks Sally. Wow! It’s great to read that one of these post made a difference for you. It’s a joy to be on the journey with you. Best for 2015!
I love your work. May I wish you well for 2015! And thanks for all your support of my work. You were the most thoughtful interview I had in 2014.
Thanks John. You taught me that when I start feeling hot or negative emotions I have stopped listening and want to control or fix someone. That’s one of my favorite insights of 2014!
I have just recently started following you, Dan, and have already begun to think differently about my actions and the people around me. I am looking forward to 2015 with renewed enthusiasm, partly because of your blog. Thank you so much!
Thanks Kathy. I’m with you. I’m learning to think differently about myself and others. Right now, I’m focusing on the way I think about others. Happy New Year!
Since these are the “most viewed”, it would imply that the headline is what caught people. It’s interesting that all of the headlines have a number in them.
Just a thought for composing future headlines Dan!
Thanks Corey. I’ve noticed the power of a catchy title. Yes, numbers matter. The post about coaching my wife really created some buzz. 🙂
Happy New Year
Dan… I don’t make comment on your posts… and I read them every day. I use it as my daily Leadership Meditation. Something to ponder throughout my day. Thank you for this last years worth of posts. They have added to who I am in life and at work. Best to you. Keep them coming!
Happy New Year!
Thanks Skip. Glad you crept out of the shadows. 🙂 … These posts are my daily leadership meditation too. If there is one thing I would encourage leaders to do in 2015 is take time everyday to reflect on their leadership. These two minute posts might be a good start.
Happy New Year… and don’t stay away so long.
Thank you, Dan.
Enjoy a Great 2015
Thank you, Ken. Back atcha!
I’ve been a fan of yours for years, Dan, and really appreciate your effort and commitment to publishing them daily. They always give me something to think about. Wishing you a wonderful 2015!
Thanks Jesse. You have taught me many useful leadership lessons. One of my favorites is understanding how creating vision can be a collaborative effort.
Happy New Year!
Dan – I found you (or did you find me?) this year and I want to say thanks. You’ve got my vote as a top leader! Interesting that more than half of the most popular have a negative element in the title – many of your readers are motivated by pain. Personally, I found the completely positive ones most uplifting, but then that’s just me. Keep writing, keep leading, keep inspiring!
Thanks Kevin. I’m glad we’re connected, regardless of who found who. 🙂
The negativity you see comes from me. I’m often working to solve my own darkness.
Thanks for your feedback on your preference.
Happy New Year
I have enjoyed reading your posts after I “found” you, I can’t remember how that happened though. You posts are short, concise, and easy for me to quickly read. I am nowhere close to the leader I want to become, and your nuggets of wisdom help give me little pieces that cause me to reflect on my leadership. Thank you, and I look forward to 2015..and more leadership nuggets from you.
Congratulations Dan and Happy New Year!
Diana
